Obituary for Muriel Lee Delk

Muriel Lee Delk age 87, of Woodstock, GA passed away Thursday, October 06, 2011 at her residence. She was a native of Brooklyn, New York.

Mrs. Delk was a devoted wife, and mother of four. She served in the Army Nurse Corps. stationed at Valley Forge Hospital. After leaving the military, she continued to serve in the nursing field until she retired from GA Regional Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was also a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM, on Tuesday, October 11 at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Father Larry Neise, and Monsignor Francis J. Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday, followed by a Rosary Service at South Canton Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glindon Delk.

Survivors include: son, Glenn A. Delk and Barbara Delk; daughters, Dr. Marcia Delk and Charles Payne; Nina A Delk; Lisa D. Morris; brother, Edmund Lee; sister, Kathleen LeStrange; grand children, Erin Delk, Katie Delk, Sarah Delk, Jonathan Payne, Brendan Payne, Jessica Dabkowski, Zachary Morris; great grand children, Breleigh & Brandt Payne; several nieces, nephews, other family members, and devoted care giver Kathy Tommie also survive.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
