The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of John Rodgers can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The lighting of a Memorial Candle not only provides a gesture of sympathy and support to the immediate family during their time of need but also provides the gift of extending the Book of Memories for future generations.

When I was18 years old, I flew to the Atlanta Airport to work in Marrietta over the summer.  My flight was scheduled to arrive at 11pm but was 3 hours late.  When my flight arrived at 2am, Uncle Buddy was at the terminal with a smile on his face.  He drove me to Marrietta and went to work the next morning without complaining. I am sure he was exhausted.

Every week Buddy mowed Granny's yard with a smile on his.  After mowing, he would come in the house to have a coke and check on her.

My Mom, Ruth Cavender, always admired her brother Buddy for his intelligence and dligence to succeed.  Uncle Buddy was a generous and kind person.  I am thankful that I spent time with Uncle Buddy and his family every summer in Marrietta when I was growing up.
