William Roy Ingram, Sr., age 91, of Murrayville, GA passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at his residence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, & great grandfather. He served his country in both the Air Force and the U.S. Army. He served in Vietnam where he received the Bronze Star & the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry. He was a personal guard to Vice President Humphrey. He served in the Department of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and as an Army Criminal Investigation Special Agent before retiring with over 20 years of service. He was an avid golfer, coached & officiated numerous youth sports, and ran chains on the sidelines for the Miami Dolphins.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Jeff Ingram officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Georgia National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 21, 2024, at South Canton Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by, Parents - William & Hallie Porter Ingram, Brother - Doug, & Sister - Lucille
Survivors include: Survivors:
Wife of 66 years - Joan Ingram
Children - Bill & Jennifer Ingram, Vebbra & Eric Willey, & Jeff & Kristy Ingram
Grandchildren - Michael J. & Abby Ingram, Dylan T. Ingram, & Hallie S. Ingram
Great Grand Children - Bella "Bear" Ingram & Riley Ingram.
Numerous other family & friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in his memory are prefered.
