William "Andy" Haynes, age 74, of Canton, GA passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Growing up in Acworth, GA, Andy attended North Cobb High School, where he received a four-year perfect attendance award. A star on the gridiron, he was a lineman and served as a team captain for the football team his junior and senior years. He was also named to the All-Cobb County Team in 1965. Andy later attended Georgia State University, where he received a business degree. He began his career with Kemper Insurance, and later worked at The Insurance House and B. Jones & Associates as an insurance underwriter. Andy had a great reputation in the insurance industry and was respected and trusted by his colleagues and customers. He was immensely talented and handy, could fix anything, and was always doing projects around the house. He even built two of the homes in which he lived. All who knew Andy loved him, and his quiet spirit, kind heart, and boisterous laugh will be missed. A man of faith, he loved attending church and singing in the choir. He was a loving father and devoted husband to Ann for 31 years. Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, on Monday, August 23, 2021, from the Lake Forest Memorial Park with Bro. Tommy Lawson officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Forest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Monday, August 23, 2021, at Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by, Parents: Melvin and Geneva Haynes, Brother: Chris Haynes.
