William "Bill" Andrew

William “Bill” Andrew, age 78, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Northside Cherokee Hospital. He was born on January 5, 1947, at Crawford Long Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a 1965 graduate of Dykes High School in Atlanta, Georgia. An accomplished percussionist, he was a four-year member of the high school marching and concert bands. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Georgia in 1969. He went on to achieve his Master of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1971. During his time at the University of Georgia, he served as the news director for WDOL in Athens, Georgia. He was granted press credentials to report from the 1968 Republican National Convention in Miami and the Democratic National Convention in Chicago. He married Sandra Brown Andrew in November of 1971. They were married for over 50 years.




Bill continued his working career as a motion picture booking agent with his father. He then worked for several years for John Knox Press, a Christian publishing company. Bill worked as a commercial insurance agent for many years with various firms in Atlanta. Bill also published a book titled "Foundational Christianity: A Study of 1st John." He loved to read and write books, as well as listen to classic radio. He had quite the sense of humor and loved spending time with his friends and family. Bill is survived by his son, Bryan Andrew, and his wife, Shawn; two wonderful grandchildren, Ansleigh and Micah; his sister, Jone Andrew Cross; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, E. William Andrew Jr. and Lena Alice Mayes Andrew, his sister, Julie Andrew Franklin, and his wife, Sandra Brown Andrew. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 pm, and funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4th, at 11:00 am at South Canton Funeral Home. Bill will forever be remembered as a friendly, cheerful man who loved his Savior and is now joined with Him in Heaven.
