Vicky Lynn Grizzle

Vicky Lynn Grizzle, age 73, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1950 to Clyde and Hazel Owen of Canton, GA. She was married to William Grizzle, the love of her life, for 51 years. Vicky and William had three children: Summer Owens (married to Steven Owens), Sarah Grizzle, and Robert Grizzle, and three grandchildren: Ada Grace, Samuel, and Juniper Claire. She is also survived by her sister, Becky Butterworth, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, an aunt, and brothers-in-law and sister-in-law.

Vicky worked as a nurse at R.T. Jones Hospital. She later went back to Georgia State for a master’s degree to become a Nurse Practitioner. She worked at the Cherokee County Health Department for many years as a nurse practitioner, until she retired.

Vicky did not slow down in retirement. She was an active member of the Cherokee County Farm Bureau, volunteering at the Farm Bureau booth at farmer’s markets and helping out with educational programs that Farm Bureau hosted. She was also a life-long member of Arbor Hill Baptist Church, where she filled in as piano player from time to time.

One of Vicky’s greatest joys in life was to spend time with her family, especially her grandkids. She helped take care of them when they were little, attended as many extra curricular practices and events as she could, and often ruined their dinner by taking them out for ice cream in the afternoon! She was always interested to hear what they were doing in school, and thought of many ways to encourage them with real-world learning.

She passed away peacefully at Northside Cherokee Hospital, surrounded by family, after a long battle with lung disease. She is now breathing freely in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Memorial Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from the Arbor Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Casey Martin and Rev. Joey Watson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, September 22, 2023, as well as Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at South Canton Funeral Home.
