Obituary

“

Above all, he was a family man whose greatest joy was loving the people closest to him.

Tony L. Horton, age 63, of White, Georgia, passed away at home on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Highland Pointe, surrounded by the love of his family.

Tony was a devoted husband, loving father, proud Pawpaw, cherished brother, and loyal friend. Above all, he was a family man whose greatest joy was loving the people closest to him. His love, strength, and the memories he created with those he held dear will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Tony shared a deep and unconditional love with his beloved wife, Michelle. He loved her with a devotion that stood the test of time, carrying her in his heart through every season of life. His love for Michelle was a lasting promise of togetherness, meant to endure forever and always.

One of Tony’s greatest joys in life was being a Pawpaw to his grandson, Sylas. He adored Sylas beyond measure, and the love he had for him was more than words could ever express. Sylas was Tony’s world, and the bond they shared was truly special. Being his Pawpaw brought Tony a happiness that will forever live on in the memories and heart of his grandson.

Throughout his cancer journey, Tony showed incredible strength, courage, and determination. He was a fighter who faced challenges that tested even the strongest person, demonstrating the resilience that defined him. His strength throughout this difficult journey was a testament to the man he was and the love that surrounded him. His family will forever be proud of the fight he fought and grateful for every moment they were blessed to share with him.

Tony was also a devoted Atlanta Falcons fan who loved making game days special. Whether cheering on his team, spending time with friends, or gathering with family, he knew how to turn an ordinary Sunday into a meaningful memory. Those game day traditions, the laughter, and the time spent together will remain treasured reminders of the joy he brought to the people he loved.

Tony was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Barbara and Jimmy Horton.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Michelle Horton; his daughter, Ansley Horton, and son-in-law, Kyle Bentley; his sister, Zina (Scott) Pope; and his brothers, Kenneth (Brooke) Horton and Bobby (Taij Rai) Horton. His legacy of love continues through his grandson, Sylas Bentley, and his second grandson, Oren Bentley, expected January 1, 2027. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, who remain part of the family legacy he leaves behind.

Throughout Tony’s cancer journey, his family was blessed by the unwavering kindness, compassion, and support of Sutallee Baptist Church. The prayers, visits, meals, and thoughtful check-ins offered by its congregation meant more than words can express. Their love and generosity were a tremendous source of strength and comfort to Tony and his family during an incredibly difficult time. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Sutallee Baptist Church who walked alongside them and showed Tony and his loved ones such genuine care.

Though Tony’s passing leaves an immeasurable ache in the hearts of those who love him, his legacy will live on through the family he cherished, the strength he demonstrated, and the countless memories he leaves behind. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father, and an incredible Pawpaw whose love will continue to live on for generations to come.

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, in the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home, with Senior Pastor Billy Edmondson and Pastor Randy Blanton officiating. Interment will follow at Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church.
