Thelma Elouise Hughes

Elouise, aged 76, died on Tuesday, January ninth after a short stay in a local hospital. She was known as "Grana" by her four grandchildren who miss her greatly.

Elouise was graduated from Kennesaw State University during her career as a Medical Technologist at Northside Hospital Clinical Laboratory in Atlanta, Georgia. She enjoyed genealogy research and had a certain knack for discovering ancestry data. She hiked many of the trails of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park with her camera at the ready. She was noted for bringing about many memorable family feasts.

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 PM, on Friday, January 19, 2024, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, January 18, 2024, and from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Friday, January 19, 2024 at South Canton Funeral Home.

Elouise is survived by husband Phillip; a sister Kathy, of Cullman, Alabama; two daughters Linda and Debbie, both residing in Cherokee County; and four grandchildren Stephen, Katlyn, Jennifer, and Hannah.

She was preceded in death by parents Tillman and Nodie, both of Cullman, Alabama.
