Our beloved Papa, Ted Anderson, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 29, 2026. After struggling with many health issues, he left this world peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Teddie B. Anderson was born on January 13, 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Lula Anderson; his twin brother Edd and Diane Anderson; Henry and Pauline Weatherby; and Billy and Marilyn Tatum.

Ted was raised in the Sixes Community. He loved telling stories about working in the bowling alley with Edd, where they set up the pins and dodged the bowling balls.

Ted was baptized at Hopewell Baptist church, where his mother danced with joy because he had been saved. Ted did not just proclaim to be a Christian; he lived a life that showed the love of Christ every day. He was also proud to serve his country in the Army National Guard.

Ted was married to the love of his life, Judy Crowe. Together, they were a match made in heaven and gave us all the perfect example of true love.

He was the proud father of Michael Anderson, Nathan and Sandi Anderson, Julie Crowe and Kerry Martin, Sarah Crowe and Kim Priest, and Amanda Parker. Countless family and friends also loved him.

His favorite and proudest role was being Papa to Meredith Anderson, Will, Sydney, and Kathryn Anderson, Taylor Wiggington, Libby and Gracie Reece, and Paris Fugitt. As the patriarch of his family, he also loved his nieces and nephews and took his role very seriously after the passing of his siblings.

Ted had a successful career in lumber sales at W. P. Stephens and as a supervisor of high-end architectural finishes and custom millwork at Trimline Sales. He was also a talented craftsman and proud to make desks, cradles, and butcher blocks for his family.

Ted loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles and fast cars. He and Judy spent many weekends riding his Harley and making friends along the way.

Papa was our biggest fan. He spent years on the sidelines cheering for his sons in baseball and basketball and grandchildren in the many sports they played. We always knew how proud he was, and he made sure we knew how much he loved us.

We will always smile as we remember him with Double Bubble gum, Ted’s Taters, Scooby Doo sleepovers, Spam and eggs, birthday dinners, his “Done Goin” clothes, and the countless memories that he made special just by being him. As for the girls of the family, there was no greater honor than to be his “Sugar”. The boys, however, would remind us that he could be tough and wasn’t afraid to “jerk a knot in your tail”.

To know him was to love him. Ted was a friend to everyone he met, and we were all better because he loved us. We will carry on his legacy of unconditionally loving one another. Family meant everything to Papa, and we were blessed beyond measure to be his family.
