Saundra Lewis Gilbert

Saundra “Sandy” Lewis Gilbert, age 81, of Canton, GA went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Saundra was born in St. Louis, Missouri and spent most of her childhood growing up in Detroit, Michigan.

She was the daughter of the late Rev. Mark Lewis and Thelma Lewis Adams. As a young girl growing up in Detroit with her dear older sister, the late Anna Rose Gardner, she met her future husband, the late Kenneth “Ken” Gilbert. Ken and Sandy were married on March 21, 1964. Following their wedding, they lived in Smyrna, Georgia where she began the role of being a wife and the even greater role of becoming a mom to their three sons. Sandy loved the Lord and was instrumental in shaping the faith of her family to always seek Jesus first.

Sandy was the loving mother of three sons, Ken Gilbert (Sheila), Scott Gilbert (Colleen), and Matt Gilbert (Sarah). She was affectionately known as Grammy to her grandchildren Ashley, Austin, Evan, Abigail, Bailey, Matthew, and Grace Gilbert, and also her great granddaughter Georgia.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Ragan officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at South Canton Funeral Home.
