Robert D. O’Hara, 60 of Hayesville was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday June 19, 2023. He was a native of Homeland, Florida and following school he began to work on the family ranch with his grandfather. He then moved to Canton, Georgia in 2004 where he preached at Boiling Springs Primitive Baptist Church in Milton, Georgia. Robert was a devoted shepherd to his congregation and led many lost souls to Christ. Robert was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making walking sticks. He loved the outdoors, working in the yard or simply sitting on the porch listening to the creek flow by.
He was the son of the late Robert L. and Barbara F. O’ Hara.
Surviving are his loving wife of thirty five years, Gayle O’Hara of Hayesville; three daughters, Kathryn O’Hara of Hayesville, Miranda Martin and husband, Kenneth of Rome, Georgia, Scarlett O’Hara and partner, Barbara Wisherd of Woodstock, Georgia; six grandchildren, Abbigail, Keegan, Ryker, Robert, Elliott and Pamela; one sister, Teresa Ward of Winter Haven, Florida; one brother, Dale Stephens and wife, Sylvia of Pavo, Georgia; also survived by several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Sammy.
The family is sorry for any inconvenience; however, they have decided to do a small intimate private service at a later date in place of the Celebration of Life that was scheduled for Saturday, July 1, 2023.
