Rebecca Annette “Becky” Butterworth

Rebecca Annette “Becky” Butterworth, lovingly known as “Mom” by her children and “BB” by her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on May 21, 1946, Becky was a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, spending most of her life in the Union Hill Community, and was a proud graduate of Cherokee High School. After being a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, she spent many years working at Etowah Bank in Downtown Canton.

Becky’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter and treasured the memories they made together. She is survived by her children, Tracy Webb (Jeff), Jenny Howard (Jason Richards), and Jeff Butterworth (Kelly); her grandchildren, Taylor Diaz (Kevin), Jacob Webb (Madison), Isabelle Howard, Brooklyn Butterworth, Isaac Howard, Kendle Butterworth, Owen Webb, and Abigail Howard; and her great-granddaughter, Ari Diaz, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Becky loved reading, working puzzles, cross-stitching, bird watching, and attending Red-Back Hymnal Singings. Those who knew her well knew just how much she loved anything and everything the color blue. Above all, she loved being surrounded by her family and treasured her role as “BB.”

Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Hazel Owen, and her sister, Vicky Grizzle. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her family will carry her memory in their hearts. Though saying goodbye is difficult, it brings comfort to know that Becky is at peace.  Her love will live on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home, with Rev. Joey Watson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Arbor Hill Baptist Church Cemetery located at 696 Arbor Hill Road, Canton, GA. 30115.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 2:00 PM until the funeral hour at the South Canton Funeral Home.

The family requests that anyone attending consider wearing something blue or colorful in her memory.
