Patsy H. Bennett (Hunt)

Patsy H. Bennett, age 87, of Waleska, GA passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Landings of Canton Hills. She graduated from Berry Schools of Rome in 1956 and later worked for the Cherokee County School District as an Administrative Assistant to seven different school superintendents until retiring in 2002. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed gardening; working with her flowers, and loved spoiling her 2 grandsons and then her 6 great grandchildren. Berry School was always important to her and she enjoyed the annual alumni work week and kept in touch with her former classmates.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 29, 2025 and from 11:00 am until the Funeral Hour on Friday, May 30, 2025 at the South Canton Funeral Home.

The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, in the Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating, interment will follow in the Salacoa Baptist Church Cemetery in Waleska, GA.

The Pallbearers will be: Zeb Cochran, Jake Cochran, Hunter Cochran, Jackson Cochran, Chris Hunt, Darren Hunt, and Seth Mulkey.

She was preceded in death by: Husband: C. Ernest Bennett -1956 to 2005

(married 49 3/4 yrs.) Husband: Charles "Ed" McLeod - 2006 to 2024 (married 18 years).

Parents: Oscar M. and Modene C. Hunt and Brother-in-Law: Paul D. Brooks

Survivors include:

Daughter and Son-In-Law: Donita Jones and husband Luther of Canton, GA.

Daughter and Son-In-Law: Vickie Gonzalez and husband Julio of Powder Springs, GA.

Sister: Ophelia (Ophie) Brooks of Marietta, GA.

Sister: Rebecca (Recie) Leming and husband Gary of White, GA.

Brother: Douglas (Doug) Hunt and wife Brenda of Ellijay, GA.

Grandsons: Zeb Cochran (Jaymie) of Canton, GA.

Jake Cochran of Canton, GA.

Great Grandchildren: Lincoln, Caroline, Maverick, Harper, Hunter and Jackson
