Michael John Murphy

Michael John Murphy, age 76, of Ball Ground, GA passed away Monday, January 8, 2024 at his residence. He was a loving Husband, Father, & Grandfather. Michael was a member of Sharp Mtn. Baptist Church. He served his country as an MP in the US Army in Vietnam. Following his service to his country, Michael worked as a Power Trucker for the Lockheed Martin Corp. until he retired.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Phillip Burt officiating. Interment will follow at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, January 12, 2024, and from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by:

Father - Joseph Carl Murphy

Mother - Vionia O'Shields Murphy

Sister - Bobbie Jo Whittington

Survivors include:

Wife - Vivian Murphy

Daughter - Christie & Blair Cole

Son - Joey Michael & Kim Murphy

Grandchildren - Andrew Cole, Brendan Cole, Emmett Cole, Brianna Murphy, Danielle Murphy, & Gage Murphy

Sister - Patsy & Allen Ray

Several Nieces, Nephews, Other Family, & Friends also Survive.
