Marcus Garrett

Marcus Lee Garrett, age 80, of Canton, GA, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Northside Hospital Cherokee. Marcus was a Deacon at Cross Plains Baptist Church for 23 years.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Cross Plains Baptist Church, 6500 McGinnis Ferry Rd. Alpharetta, GA. 30005, with Pastor Tyler Goode, Rev. Alan Thompson, and Rev. Tim Biddy officiating. Interment will follow at Cross Plains Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carnace and Louvenia Garrett; brother - Alfred Gene Garrett; and Brother - Lyndon Carroll Garrett

Survivors include:

Wife - Betty Garrett, Wife of 58+ years

Son - Thomas Lee Garrett (Heather)

Son - Aaron Keith Garrett (Tiffany)

Brother - Walter Dow Garrett

Sister - Sally Vaughn

Grandchildren - Bryan Lee Garrett and Leena Claire Garrett

Several Nieces, Nephews, friends, and other Family members also survive.
