It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lonnie Cantrell, a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on May 1, 2025, at the age of 91.
Born in Canton, Georgia, Lonnie lived a life marked by quiet strength, enduring love, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he exemplified discipline, honor, and dedication—values he carried with him throughout his life.
A man of compassion and integrity, Lonnie built a legacy rooted in kindness, hard work, and generosity. Whether offering support to his children or doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he led by example, with a gentle heart and kind nature.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Sunday, May 4, 2025, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Ware, and Pastor Josh Garner officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 3, 2025, and from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 4, 2025 at South Canton Funeral Home.
