Laura Rhudy

Laura Rhudy, age 72, of Canton, GA passed away Friday, September 6, 2024 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Trent Chambers officiating. A private family interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the South Canton Funeral Home.

Laura was born in Charlotte, NC and lived most of her youth in North Carolina. Laura and her husband Richard Rhudy met in high school in Raleigh, NC, fell in love, and were married for 54 years.  They have lived in North Carolina, Saudi Arabia, Colorado and Georgia, and shared many adventures together including travel destinations all over the world. Laura was an avid reader, loved history and genealogy. She had an incredible memory and loved recalling stories from the past. Being at the beach was one of her favorite places but she loved being with her family most of all and always wanted to protect them and keep them together.

She was preceded in death by: parents “Buck” McCrorie (Barbara) and Barbara Starnes (Ronald); granddaughter Hannah Martin; brother Randy McCrorie; and sister Kim Russell.

She is survived by: her husband Richard Rhudy; her children Scott Rhudy (Lisa), Carrie Pepiot (Bobby), Chad Rhudy (Jennifer), Savannah Wilkie (Jason); and seven grandchildren: Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Quinton, Addie, Joshua, Jadon and John. She is also survived by her brothers Rob McCrorie and Tony Starnes, and sister Cindy Williams (Mike).
