Junior McCurry, age 70, of Canton, GA, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at his residence.  Junior and Debo were very special to each other, and they shared a love story many did not know.  Their strong, loving, and true commitment has shown the younger generations what a marriage should be.  Junior had a special interest in 4-wheel drives, driving Peter-Bilts and riding motorcycles with his wife.  Junior was well known as a gentle giant and a man of few words, and had numerous special friends that he had kept for a lifetime and who meant the world to him.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026, at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Ware officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Hickory Flat.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026; from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 1, 2026; and from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Hour at the South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by parents: Everette and Lucille McCurry; brother: Roy McCurry; brother-in-law: Jerry Nix; father-in-law: Bobby Townsend; and Brothers-In-Law: Coon and Rowdy Townsend

Mother-in-law - Becky Townsend

Brother-in-law - Steve Townsend (Kim)

Sister-in-law - Dottie Townsend

A host of special nieces, nephews, special friends, and other relatives also survive.
