John W. Freeman (1970–2025)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John W. Freeman, who departed this life peacefully on September 8, 2025, at the age of 55.

Born on March 8, 1970, in Lima, Ohio, John was the beloved son of John Charles Freeman and Susanne Staursky.

For 21 years, John was a devoted and loving husband to Elena, and together they built a beautiful family. He was a proud father to Allison, Charlie, Katherine, and his goddaughter, Kadence— as well as a joyful grandfather to Aubrey, Jackson, Julian, and Christian, who brought endless joy to his life.

A hardworking and dedicated man, John spent more than two decades serving the Canton community as the owner of his own auto shop. Known for his skill, honesty, and warmth, he built lasting relationships with his customers and touched countless lives through his generosity and good humor.

John also inherited his father’s love for classic cars, which blossomed into a lifelong passion for restoring older European vehicles. His encyclopedic knowledge of automotive history and his craftsmanship were admired by many, reflecting the care and pride he poured into everything he did. John’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at South Canton Funeral Home.
