Helen Harris Bagley

Helen Harris Bagley, age 91, of Canton, formerly of Woodstock and Atlanta, died Tuesday, March 16, 2021. A native of Clayton County, Mrs Bagley was an honor graduate of Forest Park High School, where she was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" by her Class of 1946 schoolmates. Mrs. Bagley attended Georgia State University and worked in accounting for the US Treasury Department and the American Oil Company. After marrying Mr. Herbert Julius Bagley, she moved to Atlanta, where they raised their family of four children together. They were married for 53 years. Mrs. Bagley used her leadership and accounting skills to volunteer in her children's schools, serving in the Band Boosters and PTA for O'Keefe High School, where she organized and started a clothing bank for those students in need. Mrs. Bagley also served as President of Grady High School's PTSA and Treasurer of their Band Boosters. After moving to Woodstock, Ga, Mrs. Bagley became a charter member of New Victoria Baptist Church and a member of the Sojourners Sunday School class. Mrs. Bagley was a member of the Red Hat Society serving as "Queen" of her local chapter, "Hats of Scarlet". Mrs. Bagley enjoyed activities such as sewing, crafts, reading, and entertaining. She lived the last years of her life at The Lodge at Bridge Mill in Canton, where she developed several special friendships, and enjoyed the many activities offered by the facility. She was a member of The Gathering Church Service held weekly at The Lodge. Graveside Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Sunday, March 21, 2021, from the Cherokee Memorial Park with Dr. Vince Smith officiating.
