Gregory George Zino passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, leaving behind a
legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion to family. Born on July 4, 1956, Greg – as he was
known to all – was a true Chicagoan at heart, with a deep devotion to his hometown and
its beloved sports teams, the Chicago Bears, the Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame.
Throughout his life, Greg found joy in the simple things: a round of golf on a sunny day,
a family gathering, throwing a ball for his dog, Norton, updating his home, spending time
with friends, or a spirited discussion about sports. His love for golf was more than just a
hobby - it was a way to connect with nature, challenge himself, and spend time with
friends and family. He served his community in the HVAC industry, bringing dedication
and integrity to his labors.
Above all, Greg's greatest joy was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his
loved ones and they will deeply miss his presence in their lives. He is survived by his
wife, Lea Ann McCormick Zino, who was his rock and partner in every sense; his
brother, David George Zino; his sister, Amy Lynn Zino Reavis (Marshall); and his
daughter, Ashley Ellis (Kevin), through whom he was a proud grandfather of two
beautiful girls, Ariel and Payton.
Greg is also survived by his brother-in-law, Ken McCormick; his sister-in-law, Beth
McCormick Huber (Art); his nieces and nephews, George JZ Reavis, Juliann Huber,
Zhenya Huber, Emily Reavis Boehme (Charlie), Jill Reavis, and Mitch Reavis (Caroline);
as well as many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Bernice Zino, who instilled in him
the values of hard work, loyalty, and love that guided him throughout his life.
As we say goodbye to Greg, we remember his infectious smile, his quick wit, and his
signature common sense. He may be gone, but his memory will live on in our hearts,
and his spirit will continue to inspire us to live life to the fullest. May Greg rest in peace.
