Grady Payne

Grady Lee Payne, age 86, of Canton, GA passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his residence. Grady sang with many gospel quartets over the years including the Melotones, Deep South Quartet and the Ambassadors. He sang in every state of the U.S. except Alaska. Grady was the former Mayor of Holly Springs for 14 years. He contributed to numerous non-profit organizations during his life time. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Saturday, July 13, 2019, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Wheeler officiating. Interment will follow at New Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2019, and from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday, July 12, 2019 at the South Canton Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by, Parents - Floyd and Zona Payne, Brothers - Olin, Cecil and Jerry, Sister - Viola Survivors include: Sister-in-law - Ruth Payne Companion - Ty Strickland Friend - Terrell Brown Nephew - Stevie Barton Nephew - Don Payne Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and other Family also survive.
