Gene J. Moore

Gene J. Moore, age 83, of Ball Ground, GA passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Deceased's Residence. He was a member of The Gideons International, a deacon and elder at Canton First Baptist, and served in the Air National Guard. He assisted with many programs at church including the Feed My Sheep Ministry and Awana Program. He was a Boy Scout Leader for many years. Gene owned and operated Canton Motor Sales beginning in 1965 which was started by his father in 1945. Canton Motor Sales later became Moore Pontiac, Buick, and GMC. Today it is Moore Automotive Group. He also served as a Chaplain at the Cherokee County Jail. Gene's life mission was to share the Gospel of Christ with everyone he met. He was truly loved by his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, from the Canton First Baptist with Pastor Justin Haynes, Pastor Cliff Pace & Dr. George Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, May 26, 2020, and from 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at South Canton Funeral Home.
