Doug Richter

Doug Richter, age 68, of Woodstock, GA peacefully passed away Sunday, March 22, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was a member and Laymen Minister of Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church, loved trains, traveling, Ohio State Football, very active in scouting. Doug was a loving husband, father, and the greatest papa any little girl would ever want. He was also the crossing guard for Sequoyah High School, and a survivor of double lung transplant. Pa wanted everyone to be happy, so from him to you... "don't worry, be happy." Graveside Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, from the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Glenn Hannigan officiating. Interment will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, March 24, 2020, and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at South Canton Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by, Parents; James and Eva Richter, Brothers; James Richter, Tom RIchter, Richard Richter, and Dennis Richter. Survivors include: Wife of 46 years - Beverly Richter Son - Gregory Richter Daughter & Son-in-law - Michele (Greg) Sears Grandchildren - Emilie Richter, Abigail Sears, Caroline Sears, Amelia Sears, Savannah Sears.
