Deborah Johnson Gee, age 69, of Canton, Georgia, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Born on November 25, 1956, Deborah was the daughter of the late Mildred Ann Johnson and Charles Everett Johnson.
She leaves behind a family who will forever treasure her memory: her beloved sons, Alex (Allie) Gee and Will (Katie) Gee; her adored grandchildren, Addie, Neely, and Shepherd; her sister, Judy (Dennis) Denney; her brother, Ronnie (Teresa) Johnson; her nieces, Megan (Kevin) Hady, Macy (Justin) Farmer, Kallie (Colton) VanMeter, and Katie (Bo) Edwards; her nephew, Justin Johnson; her great-nieces, Millie VanMeter, Bryndle Edwards, and Annie Hady; and her great-nephews, Brigham and Baylor Farmer, Clay VanMeter, and Blaze Edwards.
Deborah was raised attending Macedonia Baptist Church, where the values of faith, family, and service became the foundation of her life. Growing up on her family's farm, she developed a lifelong love of gardening and was blessed with a true green thumb. As the oldest sibling, she lovingly cared for her younger brother and sister, proudly taking on the role of chauffeur, caretaker, and constant source of encouragement. She graduated from Cherokee High School in 1974.
To know Deborah was to know how deeply she loved her family. She was immensely proud of her two sons, her treasured daughters-in-love, and her greatest joy of all—being "DG" to her three precious grandchildren.
Deborah found happiness in the simple things that brought people together. She was known for her incredible baking, especially her famous wine cake and pound cake, which became family favorites. She poured her heart into creating handmade keepsakes, lovingly stitching Christmas ornaments and crafting baby blankets that will be treasured by her grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews for years to come. Her greatest calling and life's greatest joy were being a mother and grandmother. She lived with a generous spirit, always giving of herself and making those around her feel deeply loved.
Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we rejoice that she is at peace with her Lord and Savior, where we know we will see her again.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at South Canton Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia.
