In the early morning hours of May 8, 2026, Charles Wheeler Crowe, 91 years of age, a hero of Faith and Family, passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Charles was born February 15, 1935, to Charlie Bell “Chot” Crowe and Jewel Martin Crowe. He was a lifelong resident of Hickory Flat. His loving wife of 72 years, 9 months, and 1 day, Betty Jean Lathem Crowe, has a true love story. Together they raised five children, Ronnie, Lynn, Denise, Lisa, and Steve. They have a legacy of several generations of family, which he cherished and adored.

Mr. Crowe retired from the Cherokee County Public Works. He was an active and loyal member of the Hickory Flat Fellowship Church.

He loved the sound of a well-tuned motor from vintage cars, Nascar, to lawnmowers! Mr. Crowe loved to mow grass and kept all the yards of “Crowe Nation” tidy.

Mr. Crowe is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Lee Crowe, son Ronnie Charles Crowe, and daughter, Lynn Crowe Lingefelt.

The loving family left to carry on his precious memory, including his wife, Betty, Daughter, Denise (Greg) King, daughter, Lisa Crowe (Scott), and son, Steve (Kimberly) Crowe. Nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Sister, Virginia Crowe West. Brother-in-law Guy (Diane) Lathem and Sister-in-law, Joann Hooper, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Crowe’s nine beloved grandchildren: Shane Lingefelt, Chad Lingefelt, Brannon Lingefelt, Stephanie King Nemeth, Heath King, Megan King, Dameron, Cole Haynes, Destiney Haynes, and Wheeler Crowe.

Charles, Daddy, Papa, Pops watchful, caring eye will truly be missed, but his guidance to trust in Jesus and legacy will endure for ages to come.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Pastor David Cain and Pastor Greg King officiating. Interment will follow in the Hickory Flat Cemetery on East Cherokee Drive, Canton, Georgia 30115.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, May 9, 2026, and from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 10, 2026, and from 12:00 until the Funeral hour on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the South Canton Funeral Home.
