Billy C. Brook

Billy C. Brook, age 89, of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at his residence. Petty Officer Brook joined the Navy in 1951 and saw action during the Korean War as a machinist Mate aboard USS Fetchler (DD-870) and USS Maddox (DD-731) Petty Officer Brook has earned the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, the Korean Service Medal with two battle stars, United Nations Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Reserves Meritorious Service Medal with one star. Petty Officer Brook was reenlisted by Capt. Dean Carroll, Commanding Officer of the Naval Intelligence Unit. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Monday, August 2, 2021, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Bryan Prance officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 1:30 PM. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Sunday, August 1, 2021, at South Canton Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by, Parents: Raymond and Vera Brook, Wife: Jo Ann Brook, Siblings: Ann, Charlene, Edgar and Kenneth Survivors include: Son - David (Leslie) Brook Son - Darryl (Laura) Brook Brother - Scotty (Cathy) Brook Grandchildren - Wayne, Michelle, Megan, Katy Jo Ann and Amanda Great Grand Children - Lauren, Kevin, Robert, Lily, William, Kayden, Reece, Kinsley and Reid Numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive.
