Betty Jean Gilbert

Betty Jean Gilbert, age 88 of Canton, Georgia, passed away at her residence. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Granny, and Matriarch. Family was very important to her. She made everyone feel special and always asked everyone entering her home, "Are you Hungry"? One of her favorite places to be, especially at Christmas, was Gatlinburg. She was a true, elegant, graceful southern belle. Being on hospice care for the past 5 years, she passed at home surrounded by her loved ones, especially "Her Baby", John.

She is preceded by death by: Son, Doug Hinds; Father, Jesse Turley; Mother, Mary Smith Turley; Sister, Shirley Slaten; Brother, Jesse Turley, Jr.; Great Grandson, Braylon Johnston; Grandson, Jesse Hinds; and Great Grandson, Jesse Hinds, Jr.

She is survived by: John B. Gilbert, Jr. - Married 63 years, Son - Don Gilbert, his wife Cindy Marie, Daughters- Cindy "DD" Johnston and Beverly "Aunt B" Gilbert, and Daughter-In-Law - Debbie Hinds

Grandchildren: Brad Johnston, wife Haley, Holly Kuni, Husband Brandon, Cortney Williams, husband Brandon, Blake Johnston, River and Haven Boyett, and Angie Hinds

Great Grandchildren: Hannah Lovett, husband Dylan, Abbey, Luke, Mattie, Erica, Oaklynn, Mylah, Brynnley, and Beckham

Great Great Grandchildren: Bentley, Adalynn, Chloe, and Kali
