Obituary for William Rodney Hopkins

Mr. William Rodney Hopkins was born February 21, 1959 and departed this life September 29, 2013. He was residing in Ellijay, GA. He is a graduate of Cherokee High School. Mr. Hopkins joined the Air National Guard, going through basic training at Lackland AFB in Texas and went on to tech school at Kessler AFB in Mississippi, studying electronics. He was employed in the installation and maintenance of computer systems throughout much of Georgia. Mr. Hopkins was a member of Tift Avenue Baptist Church in Tifton, Georgia, where he lived for about twenty years.

He is survived by his parents - Bill and Ann Hopkins, Ellijay; sister - Claudia (Jim) Snyder, Woodstock; brother - Clay (Gale) Hopkins, Ball Ground; daughter - Emily Hopkins and her mother Sherrie, Moultrie, GA; several nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and an army of friends. Loved by all who knew him. Forever missed and never forgotten.

Memorial Services are scheduled for 2 PM on Wednesday October 2, 2013 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Morris officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 AM until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Emily Alice Hopkins Educational Fund at any Community and Southern Bank.
