Wanda Gaileen (Gail) Harris passed away November 18, 2021 in Canton, Georgia. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend who will be greatly missed.
Gail was born to Herschel and Ethel Howell on August 26, 1948 in Dalton, Georgia, one of eight children. She grew up in this North Georgia town and graduated from high school in 1966. Shortly thereafter, she met Cliff Harris whom she married on September 3, 1967. The newlyweds eventually moved to Warner Robins, Georgia and began their lifelong partnership in
the jewelry business.
Gail worked tirelessly with Cliff for over 40 years as they raised their family and operated their businesses in Warner Robins, Georgia and Franklin, North Carolina. She was an active member of her community and church wherever she lived and became an integral part of Christ United
Methodist Church in Warner Robins and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Franklin. As part of Main Street Franklin, Gail helped to plan and implement many festivals and various activities that helped to make this mountain town a joyous experience for locals and visitors alike.
Gail’s passing will be mourned by her son, Brantley, her daughter Brooke (Chad), her son, Brett (Stephanie); her grandchildren Wyatt Harris, Landon, McKenna, and Madeleine Sipe, Reed, Jack, and Sam Harris; her sister Patricia, her brothers Mike and Wade; numerous nieces and
nephews and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Cliff, her sisters Brenda, Betty, and Shelba, and her brother Charles.
A memorial service will be held December 7 at 10:30 a.m. at South Canton Funeral Home, 3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA, with Pastor Clint Johns officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Gail will be laid to rest, along with her husband Cliff, at the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton at 1:30 p.m. Military
honors will be rendered by the U.S. Navy. Those who wish to attend this ceremony should meet at the funeral home at 10 a.m. to be lined up for the procession to the Ga. National Cemetery following the Memorial Service.
