Obituary for Walter Thomas Bonner

Walter Thomas “Tom” Bonner, age 72 of Acworth, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2013. He was born in Atlanta on December 9, 1940, the son of the late Teddie Lee Bonner and Elizabeth Clonts Bonner. He served in the United States Air Force and Georgia Air National Guard for 27 years.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandi Bonner; daughter and son-in-law Chrissy and Gavin Struthers of Blue Ridge, son Scott Bonner of Acworth, daughter and son-in-law Amy Bonner-Jones and Greg Jones of Sandy Springs, and son Eric Bonner of Canton; six grandchildren, Cody and Caitlyn Struthers, Aiyanna and Emma Bonner, and Calvert and Camden Bonner; sisters Lynn Adams and Debbie Wells; brother-in-law T.J. Harvey, nephew Truan Walker, nieces Rebekah and Jennifer Wells, and Sarah Adams; aunt Phyllis Bonner and several cousins.

The best times of his life were spent with his family at the lake, being together for the holidays, attending his grandchildren’s football games, soccer games, band performances, and dance recitals. His passions included the Georgia Bulldogs, as well as fishing and playing golf. He was a man of honor, loyalty and love.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, February 15, in the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursday February 14, at South Canton Funeral Home.
