Obituary for Sam Batson

Sam Batson, age 76, of Ball Ground, GA passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Sunday, October 28, 2018, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. John Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Saturday, October 27, 2018, at South Canton Funeral Home.

Survivors include:
Wife - Patsy Batson
Son - Ricky (Donna) Jenkins
Son - Brent (Tania) Batson
Daughter - Sonja (Brandon) Chapman
Son - Bart (Lauren) Batson
Daughter - Jill Jenkins
Grandchildren - Alyssa Batson, Levi Jenkins, Matthew Batson, Noah Chapman, Andrew Batson, Sammy Batson, Jackson Amy, Alex Amy
Sister - Jean Ellenburg
One niece, one nephew, several other family & friends also survive

I am very sad to hear of Sam’s passing. He was truly a fine man, in every sense. He cared very much for his fellow man. Along with Patsy, he delivered Meals On Wheels to the sick and elderly for many years. He was always cheerful and friendly when our paths would cross, even after his illness was diagnosed. He was a fine man, and he will be greatly missed.

We just heard late last night about Sammy’s passing. We are so sorry that we cannot be there. Have so many memories of Sammy growing up. I always looked up to him because he was older than I was and he always let me tag along wherever he went. He was a great cousin!

My condolences to the Batson families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Sam. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: "Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says "Do not marvel at this because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering.
