Obituary for Ruby Hester Milford
Ruby Hester Milford, age 105, of Canton, GA went to be with the Lord Saturday, December 31, 2022. Born on June 10, 1917, she lived most of her life in the Macedonia community of Cherokee County, GA. Ruby was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and longtime faithful member of Macedonia Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was serving others and doting on her family. She will be remembered for her Christ-like love and affection she demonstrated freely to everyone.
Her faith has brought her home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, and with her relatives who have preceded her in death: husband, Olin Hugh Milford, to whom she was married 62 years; parents Lee and Emma (Whitfield) Hester; brothers and their spouses, Toy Hester (Cliffie), Roy Hester (Louise), Grady Lee (Inez); sisters and their spouses, Effie Cowart (Ira) and Edith Cochran (E.W.); and sister-in-law Jackie Hester. One brother, Jack Hester, survives.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen Bottoms (Gene) of Canton, GA, and Mary Wofford (Robert) of Canton, GA; five grandchildren, Gina Maio (Matt), Richmond, VA, Kevin Bottoms (Mabre), Sandy Springs, GA, Andrea Jacobson (Dan), Canton, GA, Paige English (Brandon, deceased), Canton, GA, and Amy Worley (Jay) of Canton, GA; great-grandchildren, Davis and Mary-Dryden Maio, Calvin and Pace Bottoms, Jay Brunson (Emily) and Anna Olmstead (Paden), Warren, Owen, and Graham Jacobson, Caden and Addie English, and Emma and Reid Worley; and great-great grandchildren, Kingston Seljak and Emersyn Brunson. Many loving nieces, nephews, and their families also survive her.
Join us to celebrate Ruby Milford’s life at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2022, at Macedonia Baptist Church, Canton, GA, with Rev. Terry Caylor and Rev. Gina Bottoms Maio officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, January 4, 2022, and from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2022, at South Canton Funeral Home, Canton, GA.
