Richard Hupp was born in 1936 on a farm outside of Antioch Ohio. He attended a one room
schoolhouse until he graduated and enrolled at the University of Akron at the age of 16. After
graduation he went to work for Lockheed Aircraft in Burbank, California, the start of his career in the
defense industry. His many accomplishments include being a member of the team perfecting pilot
ejection seats, development of the Hell Fire missile and multiple guided munition ordinance projects.
California is also where he met his wife of 50 years, Sharon “Sunny” Hupp. Dick and Sonny moved back
to Ohio to raise their children until work brought the family to Georgia. Being raised on the farm, he
never lost his love of the outdoors, enjoying hunting, camping, and hiking. The greatest loves of Dick’s
life were God, his wife, and his family. He was a great example and leader as a father and grandfather.Richard Von Hupp, age 86, of Ball Ground, GA passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2023 at Cameron Hall.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Saturday, May 13, 2023, from the South Canton Funeral Home with Dr. George Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by, Wife - Sharon Hupp; Son - Dana Lee Harden

Survivors include:
Son & Daughter-in-law - Robert Wayne & Becky Hupp, Woodstock, GA
Son & Daughter-in-law - Michael Ryan & Vera Harden
Daughter & Son-in-law - Diana Jane & Jay Harden
Brother & Sister-in-law - Robert Dean & Ruby Hupp
Grandchildren - Ryan Martin, Casey Cornell, Jack Cornell, Jessica Cornell,Christian Hupp, Aaron Hupp, Zackary Hupp
Several Great Grandchildren
Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.
