Obituary for O'Neal Sylvester Wright

O'Neal Sylvester Wright, age 88, of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012 at Emeritus at Riverstone.

Born March 14, 1924 in Canton, he was one of seven children of the late James Coleman Wright and Carrie Estell Jackson Wright of Holly Springs. Brothers include the late William Andrew Wright of Holly Springs, the late Thomas James Wright of Marietta, the late Broudis Delando Wright of Holly Springs. Sisters include the late Betty Doris Biddy of Holly Springs, Edna Frances Reece of Holly Springs, and Elsie Bell of Canton.

He was a loving husband to Mary Lois Cantrell Wright to whom he was married for over 68 years. Together they built and maintained a home in Holly Springs, with love and hard work and taught their children to love God, value family, and serve their community. A life long resident of Cherokee County, he worked as a mechanic with his own shop, Wright's Auto Specialists, in Holly Springs, and also worked as an employee of Canton Cotton Mill, Morgan Brothers of Canton, and operated several local service stations. He was a member of Woodstock First Baptist Church, and past member of Holly Springs Baptist Church and Landmark Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, choir director, and Sunday School Teacher. He freely gave his time, talents, and resources to serve the Lord.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Monday, September 24, 2012, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev.Jeff Hill and Rev. Greg Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, September 23, 2012, at South Canton Funeral Home.
