Obituary for Lillie Mae McEver (Baker)

On December 11, 2013, our loving Mother Lillie Mae McEver, age 90, of Canton, GA departed this life for her home in Glory. She was born January 3, 1923 to Arzie Mae and Reese E. Baker, Sr. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Emory E. McEver, Sr, and seven siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Gloria McEver & John A. Hampton, Beverly McEver & James N. Samples, Emory E. & Anna McEver, and Albert Lee and Tonja McEver. 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, and two sisters, Annie Ruth Miller and Mary Grace LeCroy as well as many other beloved family members and cherished friends.

Lillie Mae spent her life in the Atlanta area. She was always very active in her church. She never hesitated to offer her help to anyone in need. She could be epitomized as a true Good Samaritan. Her true love was for children, not just her own, but all who touched her life.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Saturday, December 14, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Austell.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday at South Canton Funeral Home.
