Obituary for Kevin Guess

Harold Kevin Guess, 64, of Canton, GA, passed away on December 21st, 2021 after a massive heart attack.

Kevin was born on November 5th, 1957 to Harold Gene Guess and Anita Jean Guess in Marietta, GA. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1975. Kevin then enlisted in the United States Air force in 1975. He completed Basic Training at Lackland AFB, TX. Then on to Lowery AFB, CO for technical training. Lastly, he was assigned to Moody AFB, Valdosta, GA. where he was in the 347th MMS Squadron where he spent four years.

In 1971, Kevin met his high school sweetheart Debra (Jo) Haney. They wed on Valentine’s Day 1975. They went on to have one child, Lura Michelle Guess. February 14th, 2022 would have been their 47th wedding anniversary.

After the Air Force, Kevin landed his first job as a telephone technician for Northern Telecom. Kevin worked for Northern Telecom for over 22 years as a Sr. Telecom Engineer. After leaving Northern Telecom he pursued his dream of owning his own business. In 2004 Kevin founded KGuess Communications, Inc.

Kevin was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. Kevin was endlessly proud of Debbie and Michelle and always tried his best to support them. He was passionate about his telephony business and loved what he did for a living.

Kevin spent his spare time spoiling his two dogs, Mo and Sugar, as well as his cats. He also loved trying to fix anything and everything. There was nothing he couldn’t fix. He loved a challenge!

Kevin has predeceased his mother Jean and his brother, Craig. He is survived by his wife, Debra Guess; his daughter, Michelle Guess (Tara Burroughs); and his niece Erica Guess-Davidson (Jared Davidson) and his nephew Chad Guess; two great nieces and two great nephews.

We mourn the loss of Kevin and encourage any and all who knew him to remember the legacy that he left behind. We will miss his charm and his wit forever. For any interested, visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm on January 12th, 2022 at South Canton Funeral Home. 3147 Marietta Hwy. Canton, GA. 30114. Services commencing at 2:15.
