Obituary
for Karen Gipson
God called Karen Alisa Gipson back home on Tuesday evening 10/20/20 at 7:30pm. For nearly 3 weeks she bravely fought Septic Shock while on total life support.
Karen was born on August 6, 1952, in De Funiak Springs, Florida, to her father, James Byron Hilburn and her mother, Syble Louise Williams Hilburn.
Karen is survived by her husband (Thomas Gipson), two sons, Jason Gipson and Kevin Gipson (Nikki), one stepdaughter, Kimberly Gipson Hambrick, one brother, Richard Hilburn (Elizabeth) and one sister, Amy Sheddan (Paul). Also surviving are three grandchildren, Ryan (Gipson) Smiley, Jessica (Gipson) Smiley, and Tristen Gipson. There are seven step grandchildren, Jazmyn and Jared Hambrick, Justin and Alissa Robichaux, Robyn, Brad, and Trevor Miller. There are also three step great grandchildren, Riley Frazier, Hunter & Lily Robichaux. She was also survived by four cousins Ronnie Hilburn (Lanell), Brenda Weekley (Jerry) and Doug and Danny Everett.
Just saying she was a Christian, a loving wife, a loving mother, and a loving grandmother (Nana) is not nearly enough to tell you who she really was.
To me, her loving husband, she was simply a Saint.
She was preceded in death by both her mother and father and her step grandson (Jordan Hambrick).
Her wish was to be cremated and have her ashes spread over her favorite beach and water.
We will not have the Memorial Service for her until Sunday November 8, 2020 at 3 pm.
For those who prefer to visit, send flowers, or simply want to know the day and place we are saying goodbye to her body, but not her memory - it is November 8th at: South Canton Funeral Home and Chapel 3147 Marietta Highway Canton, GA 30114
