Obituary for John Baxtor Spafford

John Baxter Spafford age 75, of Waleska, GA passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Originally from Dekalb, Illinois, John Spafford graduated from Western Illinois University. He served as an officer in the US Navy as a helicopter pilot, and went on to become a commercial airline pilot. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bird hunting, fishing and being outdoors in nature.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM, on Tuesday, February 21, at the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, Tuesday at South Canton Funeral Home.

Survivors include: children, John Spafford, Elizabeth Jenkins, Cheryl Brand, Grant Spafford, Drew Spafford; sister, Nancy Graham; seven surviving grand children, one great grand child also survive.
