John "Junior" Abernathy, Jr., age 87, of Jasper, GA passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Northside Hospital Cherokee.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Monday, October 03, 2022, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Ellis, and Rev. Johnny Chastain officiating. Interment will follow at Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Pickens County.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, October 01, 2022, and from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, October 02, 2022, and from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Hour on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by, Parents: Johnny and Kate Abernathy, Sisters: Nita Bell Stancil, Willene Sheffield and Flora Setser, Brothers: Charlie Abernathy, Grady Abernathy, Lawrence Abernathy, Richard Abernathy and Sammy Abernathy
