Jerry Gilbert Dobson (Papa), age 87, of Ball Ground, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022 at his residence. Jerry was a retired Senior Master Sergeant from the Georgia Air National Guard after serving 30 years. He was also active many years with the Cherokee County Training Center serving as President, Treasurer and Board Member.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, from the Chalcedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Waddell, Rev. Josh Dobson, and Rev. Rodney King officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, and from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at South Canton Funeral Home. Mr. Dobson will lie-in-state from 1:00 PM to
2:00 PM at Chalcedonia Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by, Father: Columbus Picket Dobson, Mother: Pauline Hunt Dobson, Brother: J.L. Dobson, Comalee Dobson, Jessie C. Dobson, Great Grandson: Colton Lawson Reece Dobson

Survivors include:
Wife of 66 years: Margie Dobson
Son - Gerald and Kathy Dobson
Son - Randy Dobson
Daughter - Andrea Godfrey
Grandchildren - Jeremy (Lashelle) Dobson, Josh (Katie) Dobson, Jamey (Katie) Dobson, and Dillon Godfrey
Great Grand Children - Lilia, Paul, Cora, Cheyenne, Amara Dobson, Deven and Anthony Godfrey
Sister - Joyce Stancil
Several Nieces, Nephews, Friends and other Family also survive.
