James P. Sams, age 82, of Canton, GA passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Piedmont Cartersville. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Saturday, October 8, 2022, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Lusk, and Danny Putnam officiating. Interment will follow at Indian Knoll Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 7, 2022, and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2022 at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by: Parents - John Paul Sams & Helen DeSilvy; and Sisters - Geraldine McPhetridge, Jewel Welchel, & Sandra Hobgood

Survivors include:
Wife of 61 years - Gloria Sams
Children - Jimmy & Wendy Sams and Hank & Belinda Sams
Grandchildren - Brandon & Autumn Sams, Brittany Sams Jones, Matthew Sams & Fiance Erica Bell, & Wade & Faith Sams
Great Grandchildren - Scottlyn Bowen, Nadjia Jones, & Joseph Sams
Sister - Margaret "Tenie" Putnam
Other Family & Friends also survive.
