Irene West, age 83, of Canton, GA passed away Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning pickles, and making various jams and jellies. Irene was a well known conversationist, but most of all she loved her children and grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with James Hay officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia National Cemetery on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 1:30 PM.

The gentleman serving as pallbearers are as follows: Brandon Johnson, Mike Johnson, T.J. Hudson, Ryan Meyer, and Richard Garris.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, March 4, 2023, 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, March 5, 2023, and from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, March 6, 2023 at South Canton Funeral Home.

She was preceded in death by, Parents: Elmer and Emmie Dell Strickland, Siblings: Milton Strickland, Fannie Eldora, Sybil Young, Wade Strickland.

Survivors include:

Son - David West
Daughter & Son-in-law - Mary Beth (Mark) Shaddock
Daughter & Son-in-law - Jimmia (Mike) Johnson
Daughter - Colleen West (Ryan Meyer)
Brother - Jerry Strickland
Grandchildren - T.J. Hudson, Brandon Johnson, Richard Garris, Abigail Garris, Liam Meyer, and Jojo Meyer.
Several neices and nephews also survive.

The family requests that live plants be sent, which will be planted in Irene's memory.
