Obituary for Frank Joseph Garwatoski Jr.

Frank Joseph Garwatoski, Jr., age 70, of Canton, GA passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital after fighting his battle with ALS. He loved bike riding, bowling, Family time and Traveling. Frank worked for General Electric for 42 years. He started in 1969 as an apprentice machinist while achieving his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Union College. He was promoted into manufacturing management where he held key leadership positions until 1994 when he shifted his focus to the maintenance and repair of large turbine generators.

Frank retired from GE in September of 2011. The power generation industry around the world will remember him for his drive for “faster and better”, but his friends and colleagues will remember him for the way he cared for people and for his ability to galvanize teams through shear personal energy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM, on Thursday, April 01, 2021, from the St. Clements Episcopal Church with Father Jamie Stutler officiating.
This will be a Private Family Funeral Service by Invitation only. Please contact family for details.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at South Canton Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by: Parents: Frank and Gertrude Garwatoski, Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law: Donald and Margaret Stiefel

Wife of 51 years: Margaret Garwatoski
Son - Mark and Heidi Garwatoski
Daughter - Rebecca and Zach Puckett
Brother - Steven Garwatoski
Grandchildren - Ashley and Zach
Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law - Roy and Bett Stiefel
Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law - Robin and Steve Hughes
Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law - Donna and Lee Young
Several Cousins and Very Special Friends also survive.
