Obituary for Frances "Fran" Alexander

Frances "Fran" Alexander passed away at her Canton home on May 10, 2013 after a brief illness. Mrs. Alexander's life is best described as one of compassion, tirelessness, humor, and dedication. For multiple generations of children, her own and others, she provided sage advice, assistance in many forms, and the wisdom derived from a lifetime's experience. She was the matriarch defined but, for her, the line between "family" and "friend" was nonexistent. To count the number of lives she touched would be impossible.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 AM, on Monday, May 13, 2013, from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Young and Tim Roland officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Church in Ellijay, GA.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Saturday, May 11, 2013, and from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, Sunday, May 12, 2013 at South Canton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Alexander is preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Mr. Troy Wright and her husband of 17 years, Mr. W.R. "Buddy" Alexander.
Mrs. Alexander is survived by her son, Dennis Wright, of Ellijay; her daughter, Patricia West, of Calhoun; her sisters, Inez Mullinax of Canton and Linda Lanham of Eatonton; her brothers, Bill Roland of Michigan and Randell Roland of Canton; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and an abundance of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request that donations be made in her name to the Homestead Hospice Hope Foundation, Attn: Ali D., 10888 Crabapple Rd., Roswell, GA 30075.
