Obituary for Elizabeth Ann Hooper (Woodall)

Elizabeth Ann Woodal Hooper, age 82, of Canton Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by close family and friends.

Born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama, Elizabeth went into the real estate business and eventually became the broker/owner of RE/MAX Town & Country and grew her business into 3 office locations. She was a member and twice President of the Cherokee County Board of Realtors. She was also the ReMax Broker of the Year in 2005. Elizabeth ran her business for 24 years before retiring.

After retirement, Elizabeth got involved with the certified non-profit Kenya Education for Youth (KEY), as a financial contributor and mentor, specifically sponsoring two children, Cyrus Kirwa and Ann Njoki. Cyrus Kirwa is working towards a PHD in renewable energy.

Services to be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Canton First United Methodist Church, 930 Lower Scott Mill Road Canton, GA 30115. Visitation will begin at 11AM, Service at 12PM with reception, including meal, to follow.

In lieu of flowers donations to Canton First United Methodist Church would be appreciated.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband of 46 years, Danny E Hooper, son John Michael Word (Maria Stennis), daughter, Melinda Lou Ray (Joseph Costa), son, Edward Parker Word (Carmen), and son, Danny E Hooper (Mignon).

Grandchildren: John Douglas Word (Janet Bateman), Benjamin Parker Word (Naomi), Joshua Grey Bush (Nicole), Joseph Edward Bush, Hattie Jane Singleton (Brad), Dalton H Hooper, Jessie Sheran (Michael) and Sarah Strange.

Great Grandchildren: Hayden Singleton, Julia Waldroup, Juniper Word, Ella Word, Miles and Julian Sheran, Andrew, Matthew and Emma Layton, Nicholas and Tessa Chapman.
