Donald Russell Foster was born in Atlanta, GA. on Jan. 10, 1935. He attended North Fulton high School. His family relocated to the Hickory Flat Community, where he graduated from school at Canton High School. Donald was in the National Guard Reserve unit and had a long and successful career at Lockheed Martin for 44 Years. After retiring from Lockheed he started one of the first tree farms in the Canton area. It was his passion for the next 20 years. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and loved working on the farm. He was very well liked and thought highly of in the Hickory Flat community and the surrounding communities. Donald is survived by two loving Daughters, Dawn Foster Aderhold of Buckhead and Tyra Foster Woodard of Hayesville, N.C. two brothers; Thomas Foster of Barnesville and Michael Thomas of Naples, Florida. Mr. Foster had 5 grandchildren; Trevor Brightwell, Haley Woodard, Chase Brightwell, Chloe Woodard and Jones Aderhold. The family will receive friends Saturday July 17, 2010 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at South Canton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Sunday July 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church with Pastor Ken May officiating. Internment will follow in Big Springs Cemetery.
