Don Norman, age 85, of Canton, GA passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. He was member of Mountainview Baptist Church in Stone Mountain, Ga. He loved Bluegrass Music and was a very talented Banjo player. In November 1998 he was inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame. Don was also a Shriner and a member of Mountain Park Masonic Lodge #729 in Stone Mountain, Ga.
He served in the United States Air Force and was a paratrooper.

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 PM, on Sunday, August 30, 2020, from the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in the Clayton Community with Rev. Larry Aikens officiating. Interment will follow at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery.

There will be no public visitation prior to the graveside service.

He was preceded in death by, Mother: Maxine Martin Norman, Twin Brother: Ron Norman, Aunt: Rosalynd Newport, Sister-In-Law: Linda Aikens

Survivors include:
Wife - Martha Norman
Daughter - Deborah (Danny) Smith
Son - Donnie (Dawn) Norman
Grand Daughter - Katie Anderson
Sister-in-law - Martha Norman
Several Nieces, Nephews and other friends and family also survive.

Don was a good friend and I always enjoy picking with him and Ron. They were always the friendliest and helpful with all things banjo. They are sorely missed, God bless the family during this time. Greg Brown
