Obituary for David L. Ruble
David Ruble, aged 73, of Jasper, Georgia has passed away on February 5th, 2022. He was born January 6th, 1949 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Barbara Ruble, his daughter Lesley and her husband Leonard Frederick of Huntsville, AL, and his second daughter Julia and her husband Nitin Jain of St. Louis, MO. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son John Matthew Ruble, and his parents Donald and Geneivieve Ruble, and his sister Carol.
Among so many things, Dave was a loving son, brother, father, husband, Pop, friend, Army Man, the first master technician of Nissan in Atlanta, shoulder to lean on, confidant and secret keeper, no good rootin-tootin-summabitch, best man get-away driver, hell raising, beer connoisseur, verbena lover, life loving, fun giving, hero cape wearer, outdoorsman, fisherman, pool shark, back scratcher, tough-guy man’s man, tender hearted, sensitive soul, comedian, musician, banjo pickin’, piano playin’, picture taking, light-in-the-dark, worm hooking, bear catchin’, squirrel flingin’, curious minded, star gazer, camp fire maker, jambalaya cookin’, chili makin’, chicken and noodle boilin’, Justin Wilson lovin’, poem reading, hiking buddy, basketball shootin’ (on top of Boomershine, Nissan in downtown Atlanta), hug giving, self-taught painting, rock and solid ship in our storm.
It's hard to put in just a few simple words, what a lifetime of wonderful, charming, goofy, hardy things that Dave was. His family and friends are filled with memories of how this man shaped us to be, taught us to live, and above all taught us to “smile even though our hearts are breaking.”
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12th, 2022, at 1pm at South Canton Funeral Home located at 3147 Marietta Hwy, Canton, GA 30114. The family will be receiving guests for a celebration of life following the services at David and Barbara’s home located in Jasper, Georgia.
