Obituary for Cleveland Lamar Scott

Born in Cherokee Co., GA on Sep. 23, 1931

Cleveland Lamar Scott, age, 78, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital. He retired both from Cherokee County as Chief Building Inspector and from Dittler Brothers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era, was a real estate agent, an airplane pilot, owner of an aerial photography business, he and his wife, Frances, owned Scotco Picture Framing and was a member of Birmingham Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 from the Chapel of South Canton Funeral Home with Pastor Ken May officiating and at 1:30 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Samples officiating. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Scott, Canton; sons, Bradley (Cindy) Scott, Ellijay and Tony (Kelley) Scott, Canton; daughter, Teresa (Mitchell) Worthington, Acworth; brother, G.W. (Martha) Scott, Canton; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday and Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. South Canton Funeral Home & Chapel, 3147 Marietta Hwy., Canton, GA 30114 (770) 479-3377.
